so, the idea is this

I've been collecting orphaned recordings for a bit know. You know, old and deleted recordings no one seems interested in putting up. Forgotten mixes from radio shows, old dj battles, you know the kind of thing. Mainly hip hop, but by no means exclusively. For a while have been happy to post this on forums here and there, but thought it would be a good idea to post them all together on one site. And here it is.

As an example of what I hope to put up, take these two recordings.

Chad Jackson runner up mix

DJ Cheese was pretty much the first hip hop dj to win the DMC World Mix Championship. But unlike other world championship mixes, his is not easy to get. It was not video taped and so is not on any dvd (as far as I am aware) and a lot of p2p groups have a mix which claims to be the winning mix, but isn't. Chad Jackson came second and won the championship the following year (you know, the one with the Eddie Cochrane/ T La Rock mash up in it - its not a new art you know...). His winning mix should be pretty easy to get and is on one of the DMC dvd compilations, so I won't put it up here. But this beauty was found via soulseek and I have never heard it before. Both mixes have dated (don't expect a q-bert style mix with these babies)but have a style of there own and are worth hearing.

BTW, if anybody knows how a good site that doesn't take years to set up and offers up to 35md of space so I can put up some of my larger mixes up easily, let us know. I'm going to put up that Grandmaster DST live gig and the PE megamix if it kills me...
